Is there a state that taxes its citizens and businesses more than California? If there is, it’s by the narrowest of margins. It’s the reason that businesses and people are fleeing for other states like Texas where there’s a saner culture, much lower cost of living and better business environment. And oh yeah… lower taxes so that people can actually keep the money that they earn!
So, doesn’t it stand to reason that with all the money that California collects in taxes that they would have the best infrastructure in the United States – if not the world? Well, not so much…
It turns out that as many as 12 years ago California knew that the dam’s walls needed to be fortified, but at the cost of $100 million the state didn’t want to commit – even though Governor Brown spends $25 BILLION every year on illegal immigrants.
By the way, the cost to repair the dam is now $200 million. Nice job, Governor Moonbeam, you idiot… nice job!
