On Monday night, Michael Flynn resigned from his position as National Security Advisor following reports that he had misled Vice President Mike Pence and other officials about his contacts with Russia.
Afterwards, the FBI launched an investigation into Flynn’s calls with the Russian Ambassador. Now, the results of that call have been revealed.
Freedom Daily reported that the FBI found that there was no evidence of any wrongdoing in Flynn’s phone calls. This was confirmed by a U.S. intelligence official who said there is “no evidence” of any wrongdoing in the calls, adding that there was “absolutely nothing” in them suggesting that Flynn was acting under instructions “or that the trail leads higher.”
“I don’t think [Flynn] knew he was doing anything wrong,” the official told NPR. “Flynn talked about sanctions, but no specific promises were made. Flynn was speaking more in general ‘maybe we’ll take a look at this going forward’ terms.”
We’re glad to see Flynn’s name has been cleared, but we’re saddened that this came after Democrats already ruined his career and his chances of staying in the Trump administration.
